D-Day - Lots of hugs and kisses from the hubby and the kids. We're all going to miss each other sooooo much.
Day 1 - Enjoying the peace and quiet. The only person who has to like the dinner I choose is me - and I don't have to cook it. I could get used to this.
Day 2 - The alone time is still nice. It's kinda boring to eat alone, but a good book and a shopping trip helps out a lot.
Day 3 - I'm thinking, who cares about peace and quiet, I really don't like to sleep alone. My bed is much more comfortable. Shopping for the kids helps me feel connected.
Day 4 - I'm on the phone with the Mr. It sounds like everything is under control. I'm glad, but then sad - do they even need me?
Day 5 - I REALLY miss them. So, they get an extra souvenir. Gotta take some treats home to regain their loyalty. Took a late flight home, so they're all sleeping like precious angels.
Day 6 - My house is a circus, the twins are arguing non-stop. My son has the worst attitude about everything and I want to lock him in his room- forever. My daughter is hungry, but nothing in the house suits her palate. My husband is at work and he's laughing through the phone saying it'll take a few days to rebuild my tolerance. I'll call it jet lag.
